Asiatic Soybean Rust has been confirmed this morning on a soybean sample sent into the lab from Edgecombe County, NC. Details will follow when we get them.
We do not recommend spraying for rust this late in the season, but if you suspect rust in a field, we’d still like to see a plant sample in the Plant Insect and Disease Lab, so we can track where it shows up, and when, and hopefully therefore why.
The current status of rust in the continental US can be found anytime at http://sbr.ipmpipe.org.
