Virginia Tech is inviting applications for an Assistant Professor of Weed Science focused on applied research and extension in vegetable, oilseed, fiber, and grain crops. This is a 9-month (academic year), tenure-track position with equal responsibilities in Research and Extension and will have an academic affiliation with the School of Plant and Environmental Sciences at Virginia Tech.

The position is located at the Eastern Shore Agricultural Research and Extension Center (ESAREC) in Virginia’s largest crop production region on the Virginia portion of the Delmarva Peninsula between the Chesapeake Bay and the Atlantic Ocean. Vegetable, grain, fiber, and oilseed crops of importance in Virginia include potato, tomato, snap bean, cucumber, summer squash, sweet corn, pepper, broccoli, pumpkin, watermelon, wheat, corn, soybean, cotton, and peanut, among others.
