NC State Hosts Aquatic Plants Workshop
This is a two-day training workshop on aquatic plants in fresh-water ecosystems, especially impoundments such as ponds, lakes and stormwater basins. The workshop will be of value to Extension personnel, government agency staff in water quality or freshwater wildlife/game programs, farm and forest landowners, those who research pond/lake management, and construction/engineers with pond, lake and stormwater responsibilities.
The workshop includes both indoor and outdoor sessions. Participants are advised to bring appropriate field attire including rubber knee-boots or waders, sun protection, and insect repellent. NC Pesticide Certification Credits (Aquatic, Dealer, Regulatory, as well as Demonstration and Research categories) and Continuing Forestry Education credit applications are being reviewed.
Participants will receive up to 100 pages of handouts and other literature. Daily coffee, water, break refreshments and lunches will be provided on both days of the workshop. An evening social/cookout will take place at the end of the first day. Participants are expected to pay for and make their own lodging arrangements.
Enrollment in the workshop is limited to 80.
The deadline for registration is Friday, July 27, 2018.
